Photo Therapy

- a healing integration process

What is Photo Therapy?

We are not one single, solid organism, but rather like an organic collection of many parts. We are the sum of many different parts/fragmentations that co:exists inside of us. In western psychology this is sometimes referred to as parts personalities. We tend to be more identified and familiar with some of these parts, the parts of us that we identify with. Other parts we come to disown and suppress through the process of socialisation. They are still there, in our subconscious, waiting to be integrated.

Photo Therapy is a process of integration through embodiment and photography. In this process you will have the opportunity to invite some aspects of yourself into integration, to come back home and be present more in your life. It’s process of homecoming, reclaiming and moving towards wholeness. It can be a part in you that is very active and alive and needs to be expressed and heard. Or it could be a part of you that is quietly whispering for your attention.

Maybe you feel a calling to reclaim your sexuality in form of your inner slut. Or your anger and boundaries in form of your inner warrior. Or maybe your inner playful child that wants to come out and bring play and joy into your life. Whatever process you are in, this is a powerful and beautiful way to come into more wholeness with yourself.

A unique transformational journey

This is your journey.

Together we open up a space where we find what your session will be about. The photo session will be completely custom-made and revealed to us through our first meeting and conversation. The location, background, light, colors, props etc will all be planed according to what is alive in you. The photo session is a visual representation of your inner landscape and functions as a supportive container in which you can dive into yourself. The custom-made session enhances your journey at the same time as it will communicate the story of your process.

Practicals

When booking a Photo Therapy session we will have 3 meetings. The first and the third session can be done online through Zoom if wanted.

The second session, the photo session, takes place at a location we choose together; it could be in nature, in your home or in my studio depending on what type of process and journey is alive for you.

After the session you will receive around 30 high quality edited photos in high resolution.

1.

Conversation

The first meeting is a therapeutic conversation where we explore what your journey will be about. Through some questions and personal inquiry we will uncover what wants to be explored in your unique journey.

Maybe you know what you want to explore and feel called to, or you might have no idea what your journey will be about.
Either way is perfect!
Whatever is meant to be will show it self through this process.

2.

Photo Journey

The second part is the photo session where you will get to dive into yourself. We move away from the mind and words into the body and the felt experience of this process. You get to fully go into yourself and move and express whatever wants and needs to come up.

With the right location, light, clothing, props and music the magic will naturally unfold and I will be there to guide you on the way if needed.

3.

Integration

In the third session we meet again to look at the finished photos together. This might sound simple, but there can be a lot of emotions and thoughts coming up!

This is the stage where you get to see yourself in your authentic expression directly. It is one thing to embody, another thing to meet and see ourselves in it. This is a powerful gift that photography offers us, and it serves as a catalyst for ownership and integration in this process.

What’s asked of you?

Nothing really. You don’t need to know what to say or what to do.
I will be with you through the process, guiding you when needed and together we co:create this experience.

All you need to do is to be willing, be open.
If you feel the call to do this, all you need to do is to allow it to happen.

A taste of previous sessions

“Releasing the pain of the past,
celebration of overcoming”

This session was a powerful ceremony for Matilda. After overcoming her eating disorder and reconnecting to her body in a healthy and loving way, she came to my studio ready to release whatever pain still left in her system and fully celebrate her body just as it is. It was a session full of sparkles and self love!

“Let the water wash of what doesn’t serve you”

We all have some internal dirt and mud that clogs up our system. Past pain, old stories, limiting beliefs. Hanna went through the embodied experience of first truly feeling the dirt that doesn’t serve her in her life any more, and then allowing the water to wash it of. Knowing that she holds the power within her to let go, cleanse and move on.

“Stepping out of the gray box,
into your own colourful expression”

A closet full of gray clothes, a visual representation of Elin’s past limited self expression. When Elin came to me she was in the process of cleaning out the gray and welcoming colourful expression into her life. Her past self had been good at adapting to others and blending in, now she was ready to step into her own, to radiate her true colors.

“A baddas surviver”

Sara booked her session with me two years after she survived a severe brain haemorrhage. After which, as a consequence, she lost 50% of her field of vision and needed to have an open heart surgery to treat a leaky valve. She carried her scar with such power and pride!
This session was her testament that she had made it, she truly is a baddas surviver.

“Reclaiming and integrating the innocence of the sweet teen”

Marie-Laure spent much of her teenage years as a “town boy” and learned to be strong, independent and driven. That’s not the full spectrum of our beings. Marie-Laure came to me wanting to meet what she felt had been lost sense her teenage years; her feminine, soft, innocent and more vulnerable side.

“Suppressed pain in the yoni”

Through a shamanic retreat specialising on sacred sexuality work Cim received memories from her fist sexual experience as a teenager that she had completely suppressed. Memories that came back full of unprocessed pain, hurt and anger. At the end of that month of processing the past trauma she felt like her moon blood that cycle was charged with this pain. It was as if her yoni was crying out the pain, so the moon blood became the tears that she offered back to nature.
